In this economy it can be tough to get customers, let alone new customers. New ones are always the hardest. The other day I was sitting in a tire shop in Mooresville, and I overheard a conversation by two gentlemen that were sitting in the waiting room. They were talking about how business was slow, and asking if that was the same for the other business owners that they knew. I guess they were just trying to work out if there was something wrong with their businesses, or if it was truly what they hoped it would be – a national thing.
Nobody wants to have a business that fails – especially if it’s because of them. It made me think about the tire shop where we were sitting. They seemed to be doing good business. So after hearing the two gentlemen talk about business, as I was checking out I asked the person at the register how business was. They told me that things were slow and that they had been slow for some time. But they were optimistic because the holidays had only just finished and it is at this time of year that many people start to reassess their finances and where they are going to spend their money.
Having good customer service is imperative, and the Mooresville tires shop did a really good job. They kept me up to date with how my new tire installation was going, and they also made it very clear to me about which rebates were available before I made a buying decision. I know that they made less money, but I really appreciate that they took the time to let me know about the bargains that they had. When my other car needs tires, I will definitely go back to get tires from them again.
